LFR0176-H18 - Líffræðilegar undirstöður hegðunar

This course provides an introduction into biological psychology by uncovering the units and processes in the nervous system that are essential for behaviour and cognition. In this course we will explore the brain from a single-unit level – the neuron and its mechanisms of signalling - up to a general overview over neurotransmitter systems and a basic introduction into neuroanatomy. The senses (chemical, visual, auditory, vestibular and somatic) will be covered. Finally, we will explore the control of movement.
